GTFS Nordic?

Hi again people!

We just added Helsinki to the GTFS backed realtime. Trafiklab.se still rules but traffic is slow. Are you inventing interesting STUFF please post here, and don't be shy using Claude ​;-) ​

  • Also hope Västtrafik will get into Trafiklab with GTFS-RT one day. For now, there is a separate public API for Västtrafik but it's under heavy rate limiting so a lot of smart caching is needed that delays trip and vehicle positions.

    Yes it is a bit strange that Västtrafik still is not part of GTFS-RT, any known reason for this?

    At this time Västtrafik has no realtime feed which is compatible with our systems. There is however a desire both from Västtrafik and from Samtrafiken/Trafiklab to integrate their realtime data into Trafiklab, and they are activly working towards publishing their realtime data on Trafiklab.

  • Great to hear about Västtrafik integration! 
    As mentioned; it's not impossible to get Västtrafik realtime into apps now. But tip of day - for anyone doing it pre-Trafiklab/GTFS; get in touch with them and agree on API calls and rate limits etc (it works out pretty well after agreeing)
